Independent CNA-Direct Hire Caregivers

Direct hire caregivers are either employed by family or are self employed. Home care aims to make it possible for people to remain at home rather than use residential, long-term, or institutional-based nursing care.

Independent Certified Nursing Assistant

Independent certified nursing assistants typically provide services related to housekeeping and personal care such as changing and laundering bed linens, assisting the patient with transfers to and from bed, and assisting with bathing, toileting, and feeding the patient.
Home health aides do not change catheters, change dressings that are more complex than a simple bandage or that require sterile techniques, assist with respiratory equipment or give injections.
Direct Hire Caregivers (CNAs) help with daily tasks such as meal preparation, medication reminders, doctor appointments, laundry, light housekeeping, errands, shopping for groceries or clothes, transportation, using the telephone.

So, become a certified nursing assistant first, then apply with your state’s Medicare-Medicaid services board to become a licensed independent service provider, and finally begin marketing your services.
Home health care is generally paid with the patient’s own resources. A direct hire home care aid is paid between $8.00 and $15.00 per hour depending on location, number of hours, and experience.
Independent CNA requirements often include a background check, drug testing, and general references.
