Course Descriptions The Vocational Nursing Program is eleven months, beginning approximately the last week in August and ending the last week of July.
Selection for the VN program is made by a committee of Brazosport College faculty and staff; based on the completed application, transcripts, references, work history, placement test results of qualified applicants, and successful completion of Anatomy for Allied Health, (classes held June and July).
Deadline for submitting completed VN application materials is April 15 at 4 pm. Approximately thirty students will be accepted into the program.
Applicants who successfully complete Anatomy and Physiology I & II with a grade of āCā or better are eligible to test out of the Anatomy for Allied Health prerequisite.
Approximate cost of the VN program is: Tuition, Fees, Textbooks, & Uniforms: $3, 254 (In-District), $4,241 (Out-of-District)
VN applicants should meet with Financial Aid representatives about financial aid.
Classes are 8:00 a.m. ā 5:00 p.m.; clinical is 6:30 a.m. ā 4:30 p.m. Some evening shifts may be utilized.
Classes are held at Brazosport College. Clinical assignments are at local facilities.
Percent of Brazosport College VN graduates passing the state licensure exam on the first attempt is 100% for the last 13 years. |
