Program Description: The Vocational Nurse Diploma program is a 12 month, 62 semester credit hour curriculum of instruction, which prepares the student to be eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) in order to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas.

VOCATIONAL NURSE 1565 Clock Hours/ 62 Semester Credit Hours
The student will possess the skills and working knowledge necessary to obtain employment in entry-level positions in areas such as hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and physician’s offices, (long term, acute care and outpatient care environments). Upon completion of the program, the graduate is awarded a certificate of completion. Additionally, the graduate will be knowledgeable about body systems, body growth and development, proper client care, client care assessment, nursing procedures, and medication administration.
To be eligible for the Vocational Nurse Diploma program, an applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED). Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and satisfactorily complete the general admission requirements at Anamarc Educational Institute. The following are the general admission requirements:
• Transcript from accredited high school or GED. • Take examination utilized by the program: Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). • Pass or show proof of a physical exam by an MD/DO/PA/NP dated within 120 days prior to admission, to include all immunizations. (PPD/CXR, HBV, MMR, Measles Booster, Varicella, D/T), CBC and UA • Current CPR-BLS Health Care Provider, American Heart Association with greater than one year active status left. • Submit to UA Drug Test on initial application and be willing to submit to random drug screens during enrollment • Provide new certification for City Wide Orientation • Criminal Background check without felony convictions. • Attend Advisory Panel Interview • Computer Literate • Financial preparedness for next year • Attend Orientation Program
